I fully support the continuation of recorded council meetings on the grounds of openness and transparency in local government, and as such back this proposed motion to be put before Lichfield District Council.
It is important that those individuals elected to office are visible and properly held to account.

It is important that those individuals elected to office are visible and properly held to account. By continuing video recordings of council meetings, it enables the local community to witness how decisions are being made, for support to be offered and for scrutiny to be administered. New methods of communication such as this can only enhance the quality of our democracy.
