Independent blasts remarks by local Lichfield councillor over COVID restrictions

I repeat what I said on Monday: What could we possibly do that we aren’t already doing? The problem is that the rules and restrictions imposed by the state and local authorities don’t work.

Authoritarianism has been completely discredited during this debacle…

Rising infections rates are not correlating into proportionally higher death rates. Councils in the north of England, concerned by the devastating financial, mental and emotional harm being caused by these Draconian policies, have fortunately started to fight back. Authoritarianism has been completely discredited during this debacle, and the use of fear and smear tactics are steadily being rendered ineffective as more people are waking up to what is really going on with every day that passes.

We need to make the voice of truth and reason louder if we’re to win the battle of ideas against those who thrive on seeing us oppressed.

‘Containing outbreaks,’ as Councillor White puts it, is not reducing the risk to the most vulnerable – if anything, it is increasing it as it puts us further away from achieving herd immunity and weakens the effectiveness of our own immunity. Sadly, so much airtime is given to those with control freak mentalities that the truth is so easily buried. We need to make the voice of truth and reason louder if we’re to win the battle of ideas against those who thrive on seeing us oppressed. I genuinely believe we’re on the cusp of a pro-liberty renaissance all over the world, but only we can make it so.
