Staffordshire County Council are looking to recruit people to distribute COVID tests as part of the national rollout. The test is apparently designed to ‘quickly identify people who have the virus but may have no symptoms’. There is no meaningful or substantive evidence to suggest that COVID is unique in being the only symptomless virus in the world; every virus is symptomless for a time before an infection takes hold. This is true of COVID as it is the common cold.

Though I make no claims one way or the other, I find it at least suspicious that mass ‘testing’ for coronavirus has come at a time shortly after legislation was passed that would make it legally possible for the government to store data on our DNA for uses beyond our control; the Coronavirus (Retention of Fingerprints and DNA Profiles in the Interests of National Security) (No. 2) Regulations 2020.

Policy being geared towards assuming everyone is already infected only seeks to perpetuate the baseless fear gullible individuals in the community have taken as gospel. As we know from the scientific evidence, the tests have proven capable of producing false positives and false negatives, as well as viral fragments and artefacts present from those previously infected. They are not entirely reliable and cannot be fully trusted.
